Dominican Republic remains a favorite destination among American tourists

Up 11% in the first half of 2024, arrivals to the Caribbean destination from the United States continue to grow.

As a favorite among Americans, the Dominican Republic sees more tourists from the United States than from any other country in the world. Proving its lasting appeal, the Caribbean nation received 48% of its non-resident arrivals from the US from January to June 2024, representing an increase of 11% compared to the same period in 2023.

The Dominican Republic also continues to reaffirm its leadership on the global tourism stage, having hosted the first UN Tourism Summit uniting the Americas and Africa earlier this month, thus marking the beginning of an intercontinental alliance to strengthen the tourism industry.

With the recent launch of the “Taste of Paradise” campaign, the Dominican Republic is inviting visitors from the US and around the world to discover and enjoy everything its gastronomy has to offer. The new campaign emphasizes that Dominican flavor is a mix of the warmth and hospitality of the country’s people, the richness of its culture, and the diversity of its landscapes.

At WTE Miami, the Dominican Republic is also showcasing new, value-added tourism experiences, putting a special spotlight on sustainability and on authenticity.

In addition, luxury is another focus area for the Caribbean destination with two of its top resorts, the Eden Roc Cap Cana and the Casa de Campo, recently being ranked among Conde Nast Traveler’s Best Caribbean Resorts for 2024.
