More seats, more routes: Jamaica grows global connectivity for fall and winter 2025–2026
For travelers dreaming of escaping the winter chill, Jamaica offers sun-soaked beaches, lush mountains, flavorful cuisine, and the unmistakable rhythm of Caribbean life. The island continues to attract visitors seeking both relaxation and adventure, and its growing accessibility is set to make travel easier than ever in the months ahead.
Between September 2025 and February 2026, Jamaica is projected to see a 4.4% increase in overall airline seat capacity compared to the same period last year. This growth spans the island’s three international airports: Montego Bay’s Sangster International (MBJ), Kingston’s Norman Manley International (KIN), and Ocho Rios’ Ian Fleming International (IFIA). MBJ will see a 5.6% boost in capacity, including added flights from Baltimore/Washington and Fort Lauderdale, while WestJet is introducing service from Edmonton. KIN is forecast to see modest increases, and IFIA is set for a 37% jump in capacity.
European travelers are gaining more direct options with World2Fly Portugal launching flights from Lisbon, while regional links are being strengthened with LIAT adding service between Kingston and Montego Bay.
“This expanded airlift reflects Jamaica’s continued growth as a leading global tourism destination,” says Tourism Minister Hon. Edmund Bartlett. “Airline partners recognize the demand and have responded with more seats, gateways, and convenience for travelers.”
